This book also suggests remedial actions to be taken in other emergencies like choking, burning, drowning, electric shock. Prerana was just two & half year old when she accidently put a small piece of toy in her mouth, her mother had no idea when she started crying and could not explain the cause of her discomfort. This First Aid book clearly lists out the symptoms for various emergency situations, had Prerana’s mother been educated to know the correct symptom of choking she could have asked Prerana to attempt strong Coughing while she was still conscious and complaining. Unfortunately things got a lot complicated in her case by the time she was taken to the hospital and diagnosed.
